<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of a front face discharge type providing a simple structure and a low cost wherein an increased height of the apparatus is prevented in spite of provision of an image read section at an upper part of the apparatus body and extraction of recording paper from a finisher and maintenance of the finisher are facilitated, and to provide an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The finisher 31 is placed to one side part of the apparatus body 2 of the image forming apparatus 1. A taking-in means 42 is provided to an end of a catch tray 7 toward the finisher 31. Recording paper P in recording paper cassettes 3, 4 is extracted from either of front and rear ends, after an image recording section records an image on the recording paper, a pushing member 41 pushes recorded paper P' on the catch tray 7 in front of the apparatus body into the taking-in means 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
