PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly clean an oil pressure regulating valve, while an engine stalls. SOLUTION: In an oil pressure regulating valve for regulating feed oil pressure into an actuator regulated with oil pressure, a foreign matter included in a spool is removed by moving the spool of the oil pressure regulating valve independently on the control of the actuator while the engine stalls. When the engine fails in start and stalls, it takes a short time to restart, then the number of cleaning executions is set less. When the engine gets to stall from the running state, it takes a long time to restart, then the number of cleaning executions is set much corresponding to it. This process prevents the engine from being started during the execution of cleaning, and the engine can be securely started by ensuring the foreign matter removing effect to the utmost limit.
