PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment to show a good color hue and good light resistance. SOLUTION: The azo pigment and the tautomer thereof are expressed by general formula (1) (X is a divalent group and constitutes a ring structure; R<SP>11</SP>is a hydrogen atom or any group selected from the group consisting of -OH, -CN, -CO<SB>2</SB>H, -SO<SB>3</SB>H, -CO<SB>2</SB>M<SB>1/n</SB>, -SO<SB>3</SB>M<SB>1/n</SB>, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, an acyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, an amino group, an anilino group and an acylamino group; M is a metal atom; n is an integer of 1 to 4; and Ar<SP>11</SP>is an aryl group or a heterocyclic ring residue).
