OPTICAL FIBER RECONNECTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber reconnecting device which lessens cases wherein an optical fiber is caught between an array board and a connection board. SOLUTION: Array boards 40a and 430b where a plurality of array holes 41 into which optical fibers 30 are inserted are formed successively and connection boards 50a and 50b where a plurality of adapters 51 to and from which plugs connected to ends of the optical fibers 30 inserted into the array holes 41 can be inserted and extracted are provided successively are installed on both the sides of a take-up roller 20. A hand mechanism 70 having a plug gripping finger is made movable at a desired position between the array boards 40a and 40b and connection boards 50a and 50b and a plug can be inserted into and extracted from any of the adapters 51 of the connection boards 50a and 50b. Reconnections can, therefore, be made on both incoming and outgoing sides and the degree that optical fibers becomes intricate to entwine is reduced to reduce errors such that reconnections are disabled, thereby greatly decreasing the frequency of maintenance.
