PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroconductive roller which can satisfactorily charge a substrate with electricity and to provide a method for producing a sponge rubber for the electroconductive roller in high productivity. SOLUTION: The method comprises subjecting an unvulcanized rubber compound compounded so that the decomposition of the constituent blowing agent may start at least after the start of the vulcanization of the unvulcanized rubber to a treatment for retarding the vulcanization of the surface of the compound or a treatment for accelerating its foaming and vulcanization-foaming the treated compound. In one embodiment, the treatment for retarding vulcanization consists of immersion in a solution prepared by diluting a vulcanization retarder with an organic solvent. In another embodiment, the treatment for accelerating the foaming consists of immersion in a solution prepared by diluting a blowing agent with an organic solvent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
