PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming oil holes in a tip, which comprises a tip brazing step and an oil hole working step, and achieves reduction in fraction defective of tip mounting dimensions in the tip brazing step, and shortening of an oil hole working period and cut in production costs in the oil hole working step. SOLUTION: The method for forming the oil holes in the tip is comprised of the tip brazing step of brazing the semifinished tip 13 to a shank 11 having oil holes 14, 15 formed therein, and the oil hole working step of setting the shank to an electric spark machine by using a positioning jig having guide pins corresponding to the oil holes 14, 15, and forming oil holes 65, 66 in the semifinished tip so as to have the same diameter as the diameter of the oil holes 14, 15, by means of an electrode, to thereby align the oil holes in the tip with the oil holes in the shank. According to the method, in the tip brazing step a positioning means 30 having a shank fitting hole 32 and a tip fitting hole 34 is employed to align the semifinished tip with the sank.
