<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine for diagonally cutting Welsh onion, reducing uncut portions of an outer coat and capable of cutting at acute angles taking the place of shiraga onion cutting (fine strips of raw onion). <P>SOLUTION: A material slot 25 is slantingly formed for reciprocating left and right. A rotating disc-shaped cutting tool 16 is provided adjacent the material slot. Welsh onion thrown in the material slot 25 slides in a pipe and is blocked its dropping while being shifted laterally. The onion is brought into contact with a rotating outer periphery of the cutting tool 16 and is diagonally and thinly cut. The machine for diagonally cutting Welsh onion is provided with a non-cutting prevention plate 30, which is disposed in a manner of slightly projecting from a disc plane of the cutting tool 16 and is chipped off at its lateral sides to form an cutting edge shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
