PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic endoscope capable of obtaining an excellent ultrasonic image without increasing a diameter of a distal end body, or by decreasing the diameter of the distal end body. SOLUTION: A unit hole part 12 of the distal end body 10 is disposed with an ultrasonic unit 20. An endoscope side connector 33 and a stator part 31 constituting a motor 30 are fixed inside the unit hole part 12. The ultrasonic unit 20 is provided with a distal end cap 21, an ultrasonic vibrator 22, a slip ring 23, an encoder 24 and a rotor part 32 constituting the motor 30. The ultrasonic vibrator 22 is disposed in a vibrator retention member 22a, and is integrally fixed to a vibrator shaft 22b. The vibrator shaft 22b is connected to the encoder 24 detecting a rotation position of the ultrasonic vibrator 22, and is integrally coupled to the rotor part 32 through a shaft coupling 29.
