PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical shaving cutter, the life of which does not shorten even if the amount of resharpening increases because of a large amount of wear of cutting edges 6 of one tooth flank 3A among both tooth flanks 3A, 3B of teeth 2 of a cutter body 1. SOLUTION: The shaving cutter has a plurality of teeth 2 disposed on the outside periphery of the cutter body 1 in the circumferential direction at regular intervals, and serration grooves 4A, 4B formed on both tooth flanks 3A, 3B respectively. The depths dA, dB of the serration grooves 4A, 4B formed on both tooth flanks 3A, 3B are set so as to be unequal for one tooth flank 3A and the other flank 3B. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
