PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire electric discharge machining machine to facilitate arrangement operation during machining with a machining machine in a subsequent process, and also provide a method for calculating a value of core dislocation between a machining reference position and a mounting reference position. SOLUTION: This wire electric discharge machining machine is provided with a positioning jig 14 to be mounted on the mounting reference position of the machining machine in the subsequent process. The wire electric discharge machining machine machines an article 8 to be machined which is positioned on the mounting reference position with the positioning jig 14, by electrical discharge through a wire electrode 1 in accordance with a machining program. The wire electric discharge machining machine comprises a wire positioning means 11 to contact the wire electrode 1 with the machined article in a predetermined measuring position, a coordinate measuring means to measure the coordinate of a position where the wire electrode 1 contacts with the article 8 to be machined, and a means 15 which calculates the machining reference position of the article to be machined from the predetermined measuring position and a measured coordinate and also calculates the value of core dislocation 16 between the machining reference position and the mounting reference position.
