The baler has a press chamber (2) defined by two conveyor elements, with the second element acting as stripper for the first element. The distance between the stripper element (5) and the conveyor element (4) is larger in unloading position (13) of a press chamber housing part (14), than the distance in closed position of the housing part. The stripper element is positioned in the area of the intake gap within the frame-fastened press chamber housing part, while the conveyor element is located in the area of the swing-open housing part.
