PURPOSE: A foreign language conversation service system and method is provided to enable a trainee to directly select a foreign language lecturer and to make a foreign language conversation with the foreign language lecturer at a desired time over the internet or the PSTN. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a format data management database(10), a member management database(20), a voice information database(30a), a conversation requester list management database(30b), a manager server(40), a gate keeper(40a), a user terminal(60), a gateway(70), and a PSTN phone set(90). The format data management database(10) stores various web pages needed for offering a foreign language conversation service. The member management database(20) stores personal data of members including an address, a sex, an age and others. The voice information database(30a) stores voice data for introducing the members themselves. The conversation requester list management database(30b) stores text data for introducing the members themselves. The manager server(40) manages the format data management database(10), the member management database(20), the voice information database(30a), and the conversation requester list management database(30b). The gate keeper(40a), installed in the manager server(40), converts a position signal, included in the voice introduction data, into a physical address, i.e., an IP(Internet Protocol) address. The user terminal(60), connected to the manager server(40) over the internet(50), converts voice authentication data into voice packets, and converts received digital voice data into analog signals. The gateway(70) generates a position signal of the member's self introduction voice, and performs a call connection between the user terminal(60) and the PSTN phone set(90). The PSTN phone set(90) generates a member's selection key input signal by referring to the ARS voice data of a conversation target condition transmitted by the gateway(70). |
