PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frictional damper capable of dispensing with the adhesion fixing of a frictional plate, reducing a cost, applicable to a damper of a vibration isolator, and having superior secular durability. SOLUTION: In this frictional damper wherein a pair of second pressure- contact plates 10, 12 belonging to one of two members relatively displaceable by vibrating are superposed to both sides of the two members through a first pressure-contact plate 14 belonging to the other of the two members, and the axial force of bolts 16 are added, paired frictional plate 22 and sliding plate S are held between the second pressure-contact plates 10, 12 and the first pressure-contact plate 14 to provide a bolt joining part with a seven-layered structure. In the bolt joining part, both of coefficients of friction between one of the first and second pressure-contact plates 10, 12 and 14 and the sliding plate S, and that between the other of the first or second pressure contact plates 10, 12 and 14 and the frictional plate 22 are larger than the coefficient of friction between the frictional plate 22 and the sliding plate S, and relative vibrational energy is absorbed and damaged and frictional force in the relative movement of the pressure-contact plates 10, 12 and 14.
