PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize inter-device data transfer between a redundant logical volume and a data transfer destination or transfer source device even in an operating system wherein the logic volume composed of a plurality of partitions can not be configured. SOLUTION: Inter-device data transfer apparatus is provided with a redundancy management table 19 for storing a logical volume name 22 and a redundant set number 25 respectively specifying the logical volume composed of a set of a plurality of storage devices and a redundant volume composed of a set of a plurality of logical volumes, a device number 23 specifying a device to become a target of the inter-device data transfer and priority 24 of each of the logical volumes, and a volume redundancy management part 14 for identifying a logical volume located on a transfer route wherein efficiency in the inter-device data transfer is higher than the other transfer routes out of the logical volumes selected by the logical volume number 22 and the device number 23 based upon the priority stored in the redundancy management table 19.
