Cutting tool comprises a cutting insert (3) made from diamond connected to a support part, and a chip deflector (6). The cutting insert is an integral component of the cutting insert. The cutting insert is made from one-piece of diamond produced by diamond deposition using CVD. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a cutting tool.
