PURPOSE: A damping apparatus for a rod linkage of a transmission in a vehicle is provided to prevent jump-out by damping vibration of the transmission efficiently, and to improve shift quality by decreasing ineffective stroke in operating a shift lever. CONSTITUTION: A shaft(38) is fixed to a first connecting member(32), and inserted to a second connecting member(36). A guide member(40) is moved relatively to the shaft, and inserted between the second connecting member and the shaft and fixed to the second connecting member. A spring is inserted to the side of the guide member to absorb vibration. A damping apparatus includes a cylinder room(40a) formed in the guide member, a flange part(38b) protruded to the cylinder room from the shaft, and a reservoir(54) connected to the cylinder room to store fluid from the cylinder room.
