Formation water formed during power generation by a power generating body is efficiently and reliably treated by a simple arrangement. A separator (110) in a fuel cell is formed with air supply grooves (116) for supplying air as an oxidant gas to the cathode electrode. And the separator (110) is provided with water absorbing cloths (120, 121) located at least in intermediate regions of the air supply grooves (116) for treating formation water. Specifically, the separator (110) is provided with the water absorbing cloths (120) serving as formation water absorbing members, in such a manner as to cover at least part of the surface formed with the air supply grooves (116), and is provided with the water absorbing cloths (121) along the side walls of the air supply grooves (116).
