PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new pharmacological action of a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, especially (+)-(3R,5S,6E)-7-[2-cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-3- quinolyl]-3,5-dihydroxy-6-heptenoic acid or its salt. SOLUTION: This thrombomodulin expression stimulator, more concretely antithrombotic agent, sepsis-preventing and treating agent, anti-platelet agent or anticoagulant, contains the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, especially the (+)-(3R,5S,6E)-7-[2-cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-quinolyl]-3,5-dihydroxy-6- heptenoic acid or its salt as an active ingredient.
