<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating the stem of Undaria pinnatifida from the leaves, by which the stem can mechanically efficiently be pulled out from the harvested Undaria pinnatifida to separate the leaves without damaging the leaves even in the state of the fresh Undaria pinnatifida before salted. <P>SOLUTION: This method for separating the stem of Undaria pinnatifida from the leaves is characterized by elastically bringing cutting blades into contact with right and left stem side walls from which the leaves are extended, on the root side of the stem of the harvested Undaria pinnatifida at a prescribed angle to the stem tip side at a prescribed contact pressure, and then pulling out the stem of the Undaria pinnatifida toward the root side in the state to cut connection portions between the stem side walls and the leaves with the blade tip edge, thereby separating the stem from the leaves. The cutting blade have a blade edge on the tip end side of the blade body, and control members facing both the upper and lower sides of the stem are disposed on the cutting blade. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
