<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure recording while preventing the quality of a recording image from deteriorating even if supply of record data cannot overtake the main scanning of a recording head when recording is performed by using a memory at the time of processing in a host computer. <P>SOLUTION: Record data is stored in a print buffer 420 in units of block, main scanning of the recording head 104 is started when the record data of a specified quantity of blocks is stored in the print buffer 420. The record data is then read out from the print buffer 420 in synchronism with main scanning and the recording head 104 is driven to perform recording depending on the record data. When the record data to be recorded in synchronism with main scanning is not stored in the print buffer 420, a rescanning recording control section 1107 stops scanning of the recording head 104 and notifies a host unit 500 to this effect. After a specified volume of record data is stored in the print buffer 420, main scanning of the recording head 104 is started and the remainder of that main scanning is recorded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
