<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the cautery performance of an active electrode operated to advance and retreat in the presence of a conductive solution by positively preventing electric discharge and short circuit between the active electrode and conductive members other than a return electrode. <P>SOLUTION: When a treatment electrode 61 used as the active electrode is led in by the operation of a handle part in the presence of the conductive solution, a minimum distance D3 between the treatment electrode 61 and the distal end of an inner sheath 31 is regulated to a predetermined distance, and organism tissue is cauterized by electric discharge between the treatment electrode 61 and the organism tissue. A distal end member 34 is arranged to make a distance D4 required in leading in the treatment electrode 61 and fraying to separate the organism tissue, shorter than a distance D3. Consequently, electric discharge and short circuit between the treatment electrode 61 and the conductive members other than the return electrode are positively prevented to secure cautery performance, and the degradation of each part caused by harmful electric discharge and short circuit is prevented to improve product quality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
