The invention relates to an authorization of a mobile agent in a communications network to access a service offered in the communications network. An authorization request for authorizing the mobile agent access to the service is made to an authorization authority in the communication network. The authorization request is verified by the authorization authority. Afterwards, authorization data is generated by the authorization authority when the verification indicates an authorization of the mobile agent to access the service. Said authorization data authorize the mobile agent access to the service and the mobile agent can be furnished with this data.
