OPTICAL TRANSMISSION DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission device which can stably maintain an excellent tertiary distortion characteristics with simple constitution without performing temperature control although a two-stage MZ type external optical modulator is used.

SOLUTION: A modulation part 130 externally modulates carrier light outputted from a light source 100 with an electric signal generated by a signal generation part 110. Here, one electric signal used for the modulation has its level adjusted by a level adjustment part 120. The light modulated by the modulation part 130 is branched by an optical branch part 140 and one branched light beam is inputted to a tertiary distortion extraction part 150. The tertiary distortion extraction part 150 extracts a tertiary distortion component from the modulated light. An adjustment indication part 160 controls the level adjustment part 120 according to the tertiary distortion component extracted by the tertiary distortion extraction part 150.
