PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for an intermediate layer of an electrophotographic photoconductor, the liquid having excellent coating property and no film defect and showing high stability. SOLUTION: The coating liquid to form an intermediate layer of an electrophotographic photoconductor having the intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer on a conductive supporting body comprises a solvent, titanium oxide and at least one kind of saturated or unsaturated polycarboxylic acid polymer. The content of the polycarboxylic acid is controlled to 0.3 to 10 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the titanium oxide and the acid value of the polycarboxylic acid polymer is controlled to 30 to 400 mgKOH/ g.
