PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer architecture for high-speed processing and a programming model via a wide-band network. SOLUTION: The architecture uses a uniform modular structure, common computing modules and a uniform software cell. Among the common computing modules are a control device, a plurality of processing units, a plurality of local memories to be origins where the processing units process programs, a direct memory access, a controller and a common main memory. A synchronous system and a method for allowing the processing units to perform adjusted reading and writing of data from the common main memory are provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
