PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk drive suitable for using as a storage device of an on-vehicle information device, which is usable as a gyro of a car- navigation device while having the function as the gyro. SOLUTION: When a main body of HDD 100 wherein a disk 1 is rotated, is turned in the rotating surface of the disk 1 from the standstill state, The potential of voltage of both ends of a solenoid coil 13 is changed in whole as compared with the standstill state. The change of potential measured by a counter electromotive force detecting part 41 is transmitted to a control microcomputer 30 through an A/D converter 42. The angular velocity of the turning of the HDD 100 is computed by the control microcomputer 30. The angular velocity information computed by the control microcomputer 30 is outputted to an amplifier 44 through a D/A converter 43 and outputted to the outside through an interface 45.
