摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which power consumption is reduced for an AC driving circuit that applies a voltage responsive to an image to be displayed to a capacitive load. SOLUTION: In a signal driving circuit of an active matrix type liquid crystal display device, n switches 161 to 16n are provided between buffer circuits 151 to 15n to which voltages responsive to an image to be displayed are inputted through reference voltage selecting circuits 131 to 13n and output terminals T1 to Tn to which video signal lines are connected. These switches 161 to 16n are used to switch output signals OUT1 to OUTn of a video signal line driving circuit between the output signals of the circuits 151 to 15n and a common electrode signal Vcom based on a shorting control signal Csh that becomes an H level when the polarity is reversed to perform AC driving of a liquid crystal panel. By doing this, each of the video signal lines is separated from the circuits 151 to 15n and short circuited to a common electrode only during a prescribed time of the polarity reversal.
