PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable speed change mechanism. SOLUTION: A conical shape is peripherally equally divided into the even number of sections, helical tooth shapes of the same shapes are engraved at every other section and the other forms a space. Two conical helical gears make one pair. As engaging drive is complemented at the same number of revolutions, mutual reverse rotation is effected. Gears having the same number of teeth with each other are engaged with the conical helical gear and the gear is reversely rotated. The gear is slid to the same position while being engaged with the conical helical gear. According to a position where the conical helical gear is engaged with the gear and by the change of an engaging radius, a change in the ratio of the number of revolutions is obtained. By using two pairs of the mechanisms, a differential gear mechanism is incorporated in each mechanisms to obtain the general-purpose continuously variable speed change mechanism.
