The transceiver device has a chirp signal generator with a memory which is loaded with a number of different chirp sequences, corresponding individually or in pairs to given chirp signals and read out from the memory for provision of the required chirp signal using a D/A converter (DAC) and a low-pass filter (LP). The chirp signal generator can provide real and imaginary components of the chirp signal fed to a modulator (I/Q Modulator) for conversion into the transmission frequency band.
