Device for hot dip coating metal strands, especially steel strips, comprises passing a steel strip vertically through a container (3) containing a coating metal (2). A system (5) producing a magnetic field is arranged in the container for centering the steel strip in a required central position (4) and/or for its stabilization. The system has an electric coil completely surrounding the steel strip vertical to the moving direction (X). An Independent claim is also included for a process for hot dip coating metal strands, especially steel strips. |
