A process for the preparation of aqueous suspensions of sterile micronized drug particles, in particular corticosteroid, to be administered by inhalation, which produces homogenous dispersions of particles characterised by optimal size and size distribution is disclosed. The process is carried o ut by using a turboemulsifier equipped with a high-power turbine and connected to a loading hopper.
