Lining devices for a disk brake comprise a lining body with a convex lining surface (20) and a plate-like lining support (14) having a planar support surface (16) for the lining body. A device (21) for optimizing the friction volume of the lining body is provided between the convex lining surface and the support surface. Preferred Features: The device is formed by an extension of the lining support extending in the direction of the lining surface. The extension is a thicker area formed e.g. by two individual plates (31, 32) of equal or unequal thickness lying on top of each other.
