<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform decomposing treatment of an harmful organic compound to a harmless compound without discharging any harmful compound in an environment in a process of detoxicating decomposing treatment of the harmful organic compound. <P>SOLUTION: The harmful organic compound 3, dioxins for example, is blended in a molten salt of alkaline metal hydroxide, sodium hydroxide 1 for example and the obtained salt mixture is heated to perform decomposing treatment 4 of the harmful organic compound. Gaseous decomposed products 5 are subjected to gas decontamination 6 and are discharged in air 8 as harmless gases 7.
