PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for storing an enzyme reaction material composition containing a protease for use in enzyme reaction using it, enabling the enzyme reaction to be controlled and the enzyme to be held stably through reducing the frequency of preparing the composition by collecting and using necessary amounts thereof in making the enzyme reaction, wherein the composition which is previously prepared comprises the enzyme and a substrate, in order to avoiding the adverse effect on workers in preparing it. SOLUTION: The method for storing the composition comprises holding the composition in a solid state comprising the substrate, the protease and a hydrous salt at a temperature lower than the temperature at which the crystal water in the hydrous salt is isolated.
