METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DIFFUSING CORRECTED ERROR IN MOVING PICTURE DISPLAY SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for diffusing a corrected error in a moving picture display system are provided to minimize a calculation amount while maintaining the original level in quality. CONSTITUTION: A frame class classifying unit(10) classifies frames according to existence of motion information, and gap setting information of a reference frame. A motion information inspecting unit(20) decides whether error diffusion processing is to be executed to a current macro block according to the size of a motion vector used in compressively encoding video signals, the size of an encoding error of a macro block, and existence of an error spreaded to a macro block which is being processed in a previous frame. An error diffusing unit(30) applies an error diffusion method to the video signals by blocks. An error storing unit(40) stores the errors spreaded from neighboring blocks of each block. An error diffusion image storing unit(50) stores frame information to which the error diffusion method is applied.
