摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit which is provided with a semiconductor laser light source and a second higher harmonic wave generating device and by which a stable higher harmonic wave light output can be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: The light source unit is provided with the semiconductor laser light source 300 which is composed of a light emitting part (active layer region) 301, a phase variable part (phase adjusting region) 302 and a wavelength variable part (DBR region) 303 and a QPM-SHG device 304 of wave guide type. A preset current value which is adjusted in such a way that the semiconductor laser light source 300 emits light with a desired light output when the light source unit is manufactured is stored in a preset value storing part. When the light source unit is started, current is injected into the light emitting part 301, the phase variable part 302 and the wavelength variable part 303 respectively with a preset current value stored in the preset value storing part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
