<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generating windmill and a rotation control mechanism therefor in which rotating speed effectively controlled with a simple and low-cost mechanism, and a risk of damage to a generator is precluded, for both a vertical axis windmill and a horizontal axis windmill. <P>SOLUTION: The rotating speed control mechanism comprises: an electromagnetic plate 5 disposed on a nonrotating part side in opposition to a lower plate 4 as a rotating part; a sensor 6 for detecting the rotating speed of blades 2; and a control part 7 for performing control of energizing the electromagnetic plate 5 when the rotating speed detected by the sensor 6 exceeds a set rotating speed and de-energizing the electromagnetic plate 5 when the set rotating speed is not exceeded. The rotating speed control mechanism controls the rotating speed according to the output of the generator 10. The rotating speed control mechanism operates on electricity generated by the generator 10 mounted on the windmill 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
