<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a high-quality image without generating after images on an image or the like which are caused by the electric charges accumulated inside an electro-optical device. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel electrode (9a), a pixel switching TFT (thin film transistor) (30) which is connected to the pixel electrode, a scanning line (3a) and a data line (6a) or the like are formed on a TFT array substrate (10). Moreover, a TFT (801) whose one end is connected to a GND (grounding) wiring (810) is connected to the data line. A TFT (802) which is almost identical to the above described TFT is connected also to the common potential line (701) which is connected to up and down conductive material (106) for attaining electrical conduction between the TFT array substrate and a counter substrate which is not shown in the figure. It becomes possible to drop the data line and the common potential line to the ground by these TFTs (801, 802).
