PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo composition which is used for animals, has a washing property and a rinsing property, especially glosses the surfaces of pet animals, controls dandruffs, prevents dehairing, and is effective for giving tensions to hairs. SOLUTION: This shampoo composition for animals contains (a) a surfactant ingredient and (b) a polyprenyl derivative as main ingredients, especially the extracted and purified ingredient of Thai galenical: Plau-noi (Croton Sublyratus Kurtz or Croton Columnaris Airy shaw), Plau-luat (Croton Hutchinsonianus Hosseus) or Plau-yai (Croton oblongifolius Roxb.), and, if necessary, further a foaming agent, a humectant, a pH adjusting agent, an emulsifier, an antiseptic, and the like.
