PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and/or reproducing device, capable of preventing collision with objective lenses set up on an optical disk and an actuator. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a loading mechanism 5 which conveys an information recording medium 3 inserted in an device body 2, a rotating and driving mechanism 6 which rotates and drives the information recording medium 3, and an optical pickup 7 which performs recording or reproducing of an information signal to the information recording medium 3. The loading mechanism 5 conveys the information recording medium 3, ranging from an unloading position to perform insertion or ejection of the information recording medium 3, a loading position to perform recording or reproducing of the information signal to the information recording medium 3, and a medium position, which separates the information recording medium 3 from the optical pickup 7 and holds it in the device body 2.
