The device comprises a frame (8) on which a trolley is displaced. The trolley is composed of a cheek web (5), a driver (4), washers (22), bearing (6), screw (10) and nuts (11) connected to a chain (3) driven by a pinion (18) operated by a reduction motor (1). The driver drives a castor (9) by means of a shaft, a runner and a screw (14) which transmits the opening or closing movement to the door by a hinge. The chain goes round a free wheel fixed on a turnbuckle which slides on a flange. The chain tension is effected by a tie rod provided with nuts for pushing on the turnbuckle.
