摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a conventional trouble of an unforeseen increase in engine speed in a period before a computer determines it as an abnormal condition. SOLUTION: The fail-safe device comprises an inlet-air volume sensor 3, a throttle-position sensor 104, and accelerator position sensor 105 for detecting an accelerator stroke, an intake-air volume controller 112, a target air-fuel ratio controller 113, a target ignition timing controller 114, and an alarm 110 for abnormal conditions in an electronic throttle control system. The sensor 104 detects the valve travel of a throttle of an electronic throttle controller. The accelerator position sensor 105 detects an accelerator stroke. The controller 112 controls an intake air volume to the engine. The controller 113 controls a fuel-injection volume to the engine. The controller 114 controls the ignition timing of an air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. The alarm 110 controls the respective controllers before giving an alarm to the electronic throttle controller after determination that the electronic throttle-controller is in an abnormal condition when the 1st and 2nd conditions have been established on the basis of outputs of each sensor.
