PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium that uses anisotropic shapes for the magnetic material and makes high-density recording with a stabilized shelf life, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The flat magnetic material, appearing on the recording surface of the magnetic material of a magnetic recording medium, exists inside a rectangular shape and made oblique, with its minor axis equal to the shorter side of the rectangle. A quadrangle is formed by the four crossing points of two vertical columns and two rows consisting of a plurality of neighboring fine holes, and this quadrangle is made rectangular of oblique-angled.
