<p>A method of providing a plant having an altered calcium uptake. The method comprises the step of altering the expression or activity of a protein in a cell of the plant thus altering the transport of calcium ions into the cytoplasm of the cell of the plant by the protein. The protein comprises a sequence at least 25% identical to SEQ ID NO: 1 over an alignment of at least 450 amino acids.</p> |
