A cover for an airbag system has panels (3) defined by tear lines (2) which are opened by the pressure of the expanding airbag. The panels are secured onto curved ribs (5) via material thickening beads to reinforce the fitting and to prevent the panels from being separated from the ribs and causing injury. The ribs can be curved or with a wave patterns and with a reinforcing bead to secure the panels.
