<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant production method of cationic peptides and a polycationic antimicrobial peptide. <P>SOLUTION: Isolated peptides that include a peptide having the amino acid sequence No.24 (refer to the specification) are provided. An isolated polynucleotide encoding the peptide having the amino acid sequence No.24 is provided. In the method, when microorganisms, particularly gram-positive or -negative bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus are brought into contact with the peptides, the proliferation of these bacteria is suppressed.
