<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out charging responding to actually stored data volume is regard to a charging method for a data storage service. <P>SOLUTION: A data volume converting means 40 converts volume of data of a user 2 stored in a storage 5 into a certain intermediate unit. In a use status monitoring means 41, the volume of data of the storage 5 is measured at certain time intervals, it is recorded in a residence information table 6, and a file name and a storage path name of the data are recorded in a file information table 7. In accounting means 42, accounting is carried out per user on the basis of residence information and file information, and it is recorded in a user charging management information table 9.
