The leg protector consists of a transverse strap (26) held between two retracted parallel arms (28) pivoted underneath the fascia (16) and deploying in front of the legs in the event of an impact. The strap is made from a padded material, and the arms are deployed by a pyrotechnic device set off by an impact. In a variant of the design the arms can be connected to a frame that slides beneath the seat. |
