<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor for performing highly robust encryption on a digital signal and for transmitting it. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitting part 25 encrypts a base band signal S24 by using encryption key data and generates an HD-SDI signal S3. An encryption key number signal for identifying the encryption key data used for encryption is multiplexed on the HD-SDI signal S3.
