PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator for a microscope capable of adjusting the incident position of illumination light on an objective lens by a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: In the illuminator of the microscope provided with a holding member holding a plurality of filter cassettes, at least one 50 of the plurality of the filter cassettes is provided with a dichroic mirror 66 reflecting the illumination light and the angle of the dichroic mirror 66 to the objective lens is changed by a cam mechanism provided in the filter cassette 50.
